Palliative care is where Jersey should be concentrating its efforts.

Palliative care - “an interdisciplinary medical caregiving approach aimed at optimising quality of life and mitigating suffering among people with serious, complex, and often terminal illnesses”.

Baroness Ilora Finlay is heralded as the lady that set up the whole Palliative care system in Wales. She spoke passionately about it earlier in the year when addressing delegates at our event inJanuary when we invited politicians, friends, colleagues and family to hear our arguments as to why Jersey should not change its laws on Assisted Dying. - As she said, there is no ‘right to die’ in law, only the ‘right to life’.

Jersey is already recognised as offering better palliative care than many other areas of the British Isles, and we fully support and promote continued investment and development of this.
