APPG hosting a meeting for concerned colleagues.

The last year has seen alarming new evidence of the ‘slippery slope’ that Assisted Suicide laws entail, especially in Canada, the country with a legal system and culture most comparable to our own.
Nevertheless, the campaign to introduce AS in the UK is gathering pace, with significant steps underway in legislatures in Scotland, here in Jersey and also in the Isle of Man, and with a Health Select Committee inquiry in the UK Parliament. In addition to relentless efforts to make progress via amendments and Private Member Bills, campaigners are actively seeking to influence Party manifestos to ensure there is the opportunity for a change in the law in the next Parliament.

The APPG is hosting a meeting for concerned colleagues later in June and will provide a review of developments around the world and in the UK, as well as holding a discussion on upcoming threats and opportunities to promote end-of-life care and resist the slide towards euthanasia.

Rest assured that there is plenty of work that continues to go on behind the scenes every week to lobby and challenge all of the challenges to existing laws, even when you don’t hear from us.
